MACDILL BASSMASTERS CONSTITUTION
- EXECUTIVE/TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE : The Executive/Tournament Committee will be made up of the President, Vice President and Weighmaster. Term of office shall run from January to December, with new Officers being elected at the November tournament.
- PRESIDENT: The President is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all scheduled tournaments and functions, and keeping tournament points score sheets, tote board, monthly newsletter, keeping the club's account books (treasury,weigh sheets, etc.) and obtaining awards. Also responsible for the duties of the Vice President and Weighmaster if they are unable to attend a meeting or tournament. All tournament fees ($25.00) for the President shall be waived, but his/her partner is still responsible for payment of their share. The President can delegate duties to non-committee members if deemed necessary.
- VICE PRESIDENT: The Vice President is responsible for assuming all duties of the President or Weighmaster in their absence, and all business with other agencies ( waivers, etc. ). The Vice President is responsible for splitting up tournament fees and conducting raffles.
- SECRETARY : The Secretary will be responsible for applying for and printing all the Permits/Exemptions for all the Tournaments. They are also responsible for getting all the Trophies and Awards for the Club and will maintain and update the Website.
- WEIGHMASTER: The Weighmaster is responsible for performing pre check-in boat inspections and other duties as delegated by the president or vice president. And is responsible for the club scales,table, fish basket and golden rule. The Weighmaster will measure fish brought to scales ( as needed ), weigh all fish and call out the weight to the President or scoekeeper as read off club scales.
- MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to any person, male or female, any age. All boat operators must be above the age of 18, and is recommended that they complete a boating safety course recognized by the State of Florida. Each person joining the MacDill Bassbusters will be required to pay a $15.00 annual membership fee. Before voting on any changes to the constitution or tournament rules you must be a paid member.
- TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP: Any club member who is asked to assist with a tournament by the executive committee and refuses without good cause, may be expelled from the club. All rules ( state, local & club) of safe boating,common courtesy, safety, proper license, sportsmanship and conservation are expected to be followed by each club member. Fighting, cheating, littering abuse of any state or local law or club rules will be considered grounds for disqualification and or immediate ejection from the club. All club members share the responsibility of bringing any rule violations to the attention of the Tournament/Executive Committee. Any team missing 3 or more tournaments in a row may be dropped from the club roster, subject to the Executive Committee decision.
- TREASURY: All membership fees, alternate fees and 25% of tournament fees will be used to pay for Angler of the Year awards, classic awards, club equipment and club expenses (excluding monthly tournament awards), with the remainder going towards the the end of the year Classic Jackpot. The incoming club officers will be given $50.00 for start-up expenses.
- TROPHIES/PAYOUT: Cash payout will be based on 1 place for every 5 boats in the event for up to three places (example 1-5 boats = 1 place, 6-10 boats = 2 places, 11-15 boats = 3 places ). A 100% or 60%-40% or 50%,30%, 20% payout schedule will be adhered to.
- ANGLER OF THE YEAR: An Angler of the Year award will be presented to both team members who accumulate the most points during the regular tournament season, and award will be given out at the annual Classic in November. Tournament points are awarded by your finish in the monthly tournaments.
- JUDGEMENTS: The Executive Committee will decide on all protest and arguments concerning club constitution or tournament rules. and all decisions are final and binding. The responsibility for mutual agreement as to shared expenses (fuel for boat,& tow vehicle, entry fees, launch fees etc. ) will rest with the partners of the team. The Tournament Committee will not act as an agent in the matter of expenses or winnings between tournament partners.
- REVISION & AMENDMENTS: A majority vote by members present will constitute a change in either the constitution or tournament rules. Any state or local regulation(s) change that would affect the club rules will constitute a rule change by the clubs Executive Committee. Said changes will be addressed at the next club event.
- LIABILITY STATEMENT AND DISCLAIMER: BY AGREEING TO FISH THE MACDILL BASSBUSTERS, BOTH TEAM MEMBERS AND ALL FAMILY MEMBERS HEREBY RELEASE ALL LIABILITY CLAIMS FOR ACCIDENTS AND OR INJURIES SUSTAINED DURING ANY FISHING EVENT FROM THE MACDILL BASSBUSTERS, ALL CLUB MEMBERS THEROF AND THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
